Hi! My name is Harvey and I am a 3-year-old, 75 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. As long as I am getting enough exercise, I do not need to be crated when left home alone. I have done well with both men and women after controlled, proper introductions. I would do best in an adult-only home. I tend to bond strongly with my caretakers so everyone should be involved in my care. I actively seek affection from my family and enjoy pets! I do well with visitors if I am put on ‘place’ when they arrive and am introduced with treats. I am selective with my dog friends without definitive parameters, so I should either be an only dog or my adopter needs to be willing to bring any potential canine siblings to Gainesville, FL for us to meet before I move in. I enjoy having a fenced yard where I can run around and explore safely—or play a game of fetch with you! My favorite toys are plush toys or stuffed Kongs. I cannot go to a home with cats as I have a strong prey drive. I spent several weeks with a professional trainer to help prepare me to be the best companion I can be. I learned sit, down, come, drop it, and place. I also learned heel so that I can walk well on leash, though I will sometimes still bark and jump when passing other people in novel situations. I ride well in the car and am happy to tag along for rides! My foster mom often takes me bikejoring and I have learned all the mushing commands (mush, gee, haw, on by, and whoa). I would love the opportunity to continue bikejoring or at least running/jogging with my new family!! I am a high energy boy and do best when being provided with ample mental and physical stimulation. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered.
