He loves to get pets, and get kisses. In return he loves to lean into you to give "hugs" and kisses you back! Harvey is a certified cuddler and loves to sit next to you on the couch and likes sleeping next to you at night if you let him (he likes it if you to rub his belly while he falls asleep). Harvey is also very, very social and very friendly, and loves greeting and meeting everyone he sees. A stranger is just a friend Harvey hasn't met yet! Harvey not only loves people, but he loves to see other dogs when we're on our walks. He adores them! We've seen several in yards on walks and Harvey is always sooo excited to see them, big or small, young or old, he even gives excited cries and lots of tail wags if close enough. He's had a fence meet with a Yorkie, a shepherd, a Highland Terrier, and a Golden Retriever and he was absolutely in love with them all! He would probably be overjoyed to have a dog sibling but would also do well as an only dog, too. Unfortunately Harvey's love for dogs does not translate to cats. Harvey is a dream on the leash! He is SO easy to walk with loose leash, with minimal to no pulling. Harvey has a harness but absolutely does not need it. He walks leisurely and enjoys just taking in the sights and smells. I don't think he'd enjoy going hiking as much as he'd love strolls around the block. Squeaky toys are Harvey's favorite type of toy. Anything that squeaks, Harvey loves! He likes to chew on his toys in attempt to get to the squeaker, and plays with them a bit rough, so tough chew toys are needed. He also loves chew bones and can chew on them all day. He does love to play wrestle though, and can get a little mouthy and rough, so older children might be best as a playmate if not another playful dog to get his energy out with. Harvey is not a huge fan of the crate, but he can be trusted alone in the house with no issues. I have a nanny cam set up and while he whines/cries for a few minutes after you leave, he quickly settles down and often can be seen napping on his doggie bed or snoozing on the couch. Harvey takes his treats very gently and knows the command for "sit" and "wait". He can be a little jumpy when excited or greeting strangers, but he is easy to redirect. He is house trained and usually goes to the door when he wants to go outside. Harvey is one of the best dogs I've ever met and he can't wait to meet his furever family! Please meet him today!
