My Story

Say hello to Harriett! This sweet girl’s main agenda in life is to beat her own sprinting record each time she gets to play in the yard! Harriet is a labrador retriever mix and at 3 months old and 18 lbs, she has quite a bit of growing left to do! At such a young age, Harriett has already shown herself to be very social. With both people and fellow dogs, she is always ready to meet, greet, and play until she’s beat! This sweet pup is in the thick of her teething stage, so younger children may find her overwhelming. But, as with any puppy, consistent and positive training can teach her the proper boundaries when interacting with others. Potty training is a work in progress for Harriett but she will be a master in no time. As she continues to grow and learn, her potty training will be a thing of the past! To promote this training and help satisfy Harriett’s energy, a fenced backyard would be ideal. When Harriett is tuckered out from chasing the water hose all day, she has no complaints about sleeping in her crate. As long as Harriett continues to have a well balanced routine of consistent activity and quiet time, she is likely to be a good crate training candidate long-term. Since Harriett has not had a lot of experience being left alone, we have not yet determined if she is a good candidate for a home with shared walls. Harriett is ready to meet her forever home! With consistent structure and activity, she will be sure to grow into the best companion someone could ask for. Whoever becomes her family will feel lucky they did. https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
