My Story

"A dog is all heart." That makes us think of precious Harriet! Harriet is absolutely adorable! She is ten months old and weighs 23 pounds. If you would like to adopt a smaller dog, our petite princess could be the one for you! Harriet has the tenderest of hearts and the gentlest of souls. Her pretty brindle coat has snow white markings and her warm brown eyes reflect her gentle spirit. Lucky Harriet spent a few weeks with two of our dedicated volunteers. Her first foster reports:"Harriet is warming up and now comes out of her kennel all by herself to go outside. She loves being out in the backyard. She allows us to pet her and gives kisses. Harriet is also exploring the house. She loves my dog and has started running and playing with him. Harriet will get in his kennel with him and snuggle into any open space. She lets both my son and daughter leash her up and take her for a walk." Her second foster says: "Harriet has been introduced to lots of teenagers and young adults. She is slowly figuring out home life as a dog! Harriet is definitely a puppy with puppy energy and puppy tendencies. She knows to potty outside. Harriet needs a doggy companion. She follows my dog's lead inside the house and enjoys walking and playing with other dogs. Harriet is very loving in the morning! I get lots of snuggles and kisses! Harriet loves cheese! She is still very shy and skittish, especially with new people." Harriet is back at the shelter and continues to flourish. She enjoys her daily walks and outings in the fenced yard. Now that the weather is warmer, Harriet loves splashing around in the doggy pool. We love sitting with Harriet to pet and encourage her. She is such a sweetheart and we adore spending time with her. Harriet has the best time in play groups with her follow shelter companions, and we love seeing her have so much fun. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility. Our sweet little Harriet will be such a loyal and devoted companion! She has so much love to give the family lucky enough to take her home. Her mom, Essie, and her sister, Inez, are also available for adoption. E-mail [email protected] for more information! Please come visit! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
