My Story

Please contact Ann Marie Burns ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.sweet mama ready for her own family! HARPER NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Harper Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of July 2024 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 52.8 lbs (when nursing puppies) Gets Along With: Other Dogs! We have tested Harper with some of the cats at the shelter, and she did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Harper could live with a cat, she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack! Currently Living at: Shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to escape! Harper is Looking For: Her forever family! This sweetie landed in the shelter nursing two puppies. She did an amazing job of raising her babies and they're off to get their own forever homes. Harper is now eagerly awaiting her next chapter. The one where she gets her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures they can dream up. The one where she gets quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. And above all - the one where she knows she's safe and loved and under her own roof for all her days. In exchange, she has quite the stockpile of adoring gazes and happy tail wags to offer her new humans. And incredibly loyal companionship and all the love in her heart. What do you say? Are you Harper's new chapter?
