My name is Harlow! I am about 5 years old old and I weigh around 25 pounds. I am spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea prevention. I came to rescue after a kind veterinarian refused to euthanize me when my, “family” scheduled it because I wasn’t getting along with their new puppy… 2 days after I arrived in rescue a tooth root abscess ruptured through the side of my face. It was super painful but my teeth are all clean and feel great now! My foster mom noticed I would limp occasionally when I got up so we went to visit Dr. Gallivan, a board certified veterinary surgeon. I underwent a left superficial digital flexor tendon repair which was successful and after weeks and weeks in a splint now I’m allowed to run and play. I feel like a new girl. My foster mom says I’m a, “velcro dog” and i am looking to be an only child. While I currently live with dogs in my foster home, I HATE sharing foster mom. I’ll be happiest being someone’s best (and only) girl. I will require regular brushing and professional grooming. We do home visits when a reference check is not enough. You must be at least 21 years old to apply to adopt. Please fill out all fields as accurately as possible. We will not process incomplete applications. Adoptions are made on a best home basis. If two excellent applications come in for the same dog, our policy is first in time, first in line. Our goal is to have the very best home for all our dogs. Our dogs are in private foster homes waiting to be adopted. Due to limited foster space, we are unable to hold an animal to be adopted out at a later time. Please keep in mind that we do our best to make an educated guess as to the breeds of our rescued pets. In rescue we rarely see the parents of our dogs and puppies, and even when we do, they are usually mixed breeds as well. We rely solely on adoption fees and donations to provide care for our rescued animals, many of whom have incurred medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The fees received act to help support the organization as a whole, allowing them to continue efforts to rescue animals from high-kill shelters in South Carolina and Georgia.
