My Story

Harley is a 6-7 year old Bloodhound and has been in our home for the last 3 1/2 years. Due to some issues with our other adult male dog we are having to re-home one of them. Harley is the most easy going and we feel he would adjust best to a new family. He is a very loving boy and is quite content just to be near you. Harley is wonderful in the house and although he is crate trained we never put him in it and have left him alone for up to 10 hours with no problems. Harley has been through basic obedience and tied for 1st with another dog. The instructor was quite surprised and impressed with how well he did. Like any bloodhound who follows his nose, you have to make sure you have his attention before you ask him to do something but once you have it he's very willing to listen.

In January Harley was diagnosed with borderline low thyroid so we have started him on medication which costs about $50 for a 3 month supply. Since then his ears have done much better and he's lost 7 lbs with little or no exercise. Overall he's a great dog that asks only that you take him for an occasional walk, give him a good scratch behind his ears, a comfortable place to rest his head and lots of love - he'll return it tenfold!"

Harley is still with his owner. New Hope Dog Rescue has agreed to help find Harley a good home. It is up to the adopter to confirm all the information given above.
Adoption Application
NEW HOPE DOG RESCUE is not a shelter. Our dogs are placed in loving foster homes. WE NEED FOSTER HOMES TO HELP MORE DOGS - CONTACT US TODAY!!!

Definitions:

Pending - means that we are working through the adoption process with the 1st applicant. We usually don't add the pending until we are pretty sure the adoption will go through (like at the home visit stage)

On Trial or Trial Visit - means that the dog is in their new home for up to 2 weeks before the adopters need to commit to keeping the dog. We want to make sure that everyone is happy with the new living arrangements! We allow this option for everyone except very long distance adoptions (too far to drive).

Adopted - you know!! A happy ending for a homeless dog. We try to let everyone know when we have the final word. Within about 24 hours, the dog's bio will be moved to our happy tails section!
