Harley

Harley’s spent most of his first year in a shelter or foster care. He is such a special boy and could not be more deserving of the best home. Harley was found with his 4 siblings (3 of which we took in) at 8 weeks old, dumped in a bin behind a mall. Our local shelter had found Harley and his sister a home together. At 6 months old, both him and his sister were returned, as the two had developed allergies. Due to there being no space available, before we knew it, Harley’s sister was euthanized. We knew we couldn’t let Harley have the same fate. Since it’s so hard to find homes for our “harder” dogs, we were unable to help an additional sister, who came in during the summer as a stray. Harley’s a very sweet 1 year old Boxer mix. He’s a happy, goofy boy that enjoys life with his humans. He loves snuggling on the couch but also adventuring outside (even tagging along rollerblading!). Wherever you are, he’s happy to be. He’s still young and does have a few things to work on. He can be reactive to new dogs/people but once he knows you, he’s all about the love. He just lacks some confidence in new situations and needs some guidance on how best to engage with the world. He’s currently being fostered with a trainer and all his quirks are very manageable with continued training. He needs his exercise but isn’t super active. He’s good with most dogs once properly introduced. He does have some resource guarding, so it would be dependent on the dog and the experience of the humans in the home. Can do cats w/ proper intro/supervision. Kids 12+ or born into home with him! Harley will likely have allergies for life and needs adopters able to work with that.
