Harley

Harley is a young Great Dane and, yup, you guessed it, Harley is a lot of dog. At approximately a year and a half of age, Harley weighs in around 100 pounds. He has attained his full height but will not be fully mature until 3 years of age. His temperament reflects that – he is magnificent looking but still puppy-goofy. Harley would love to run and play with his kid-friends but is too big for the very young ones. He has been around kids between 3-12 and does great with them – except he jumps up sometimes, and his wagging tail is just the right height to hit small kids in the face. Ouch! We have also been told that he likes other dogs, but, again, can be a bit much for the small ones. Harley has been well cared for by his family but he has grown too big for apartment dwelling and needs to get out and about for more exercise. A new owner will need to be able to provide that and continue to maintain obedience training. Other than being a little excitable at first and sometimes wanting to be the boss, Harley already has pretty good manners and settles down nicely. Also, true to the breed, Harley is a bit suspicious of strangers and will bark at newcomers, but is willing to make new friends. We think Harley is a nice example of the breed and he would like to meet you if you have room in your heart and your home for this handsome guy. Harley will be neutered and microchipped soon, he is up to date on shots and his adoption fee will be $180. Please call ahead to meet Harley, he is currently in foster care.
