Happiness

Happiness, or Happy as we call her, is the sweetest girl. She joined AHF back in mid May with a group of breeder release dogs. She was the happiest and friendliest of the bunch. You see these dogs usually never know kindness so they are terrified of people. Happy didn't show that, but all the others did. So that is why she gained that name. She came in badly matted and huge! She was pregnant! A week later she delivered 4 babies. All healthy and huge! She had a tough delivery since her babies were so big. She cared for those babies like one of the best mamas I have ever fostered. Now it is her turn! We were told Happy was 4, but one vet said maybe 7. So we are guessing between 4 and 7. She has a slight heart mumur, vet said level 2. Not much to do besides monitor it. Not fully potty trained, but doing amazing for a breeder pup. She is still unsure what a leash is so doesn't walk on a leash, but is ok on one. Since her babies have left and her hormones are starting to go back to normal, she is showing more shyness. So her forever family, needs to be understanding and take things slow for her. Once she trusts and knows you, she is seriously the biggest love bug. Always wanting to get pets. She is good with other dogs and would probably benefit from having a friend in her home. Her body needs a bit of time to recover from the babies and then she will be spayed and also needs a dental. That will be covered by AHF, using one of our partner vets.
