My color is called: deadgrass because I am light in color rather than the usual brown Chessie. I like car rides and the other dogs I have met in Project POOCH.
The shelter where I was before coming to POOCH adopted me out to a "person" who left my metal identification tag on around my neck and then put an electronic shock collar over that. When I barked, I got zapped really bad and now there is a big red bald spot on my neck. The handlers at POOCH are using humane methods to teach me not to bark so my neck should be healed before too long and then my hair will grow back.
I am also on a healthy diet to help improve my coat. Oh, did I mention that I need a family who wants to exercise daily with me? Of course, I love water since I was bred to withstand icy water because I like to retrieve water fowl. And, my affection level is rated very high.
My tail is always wagging so little kids might cry if my tail hit them. Older children would be best.
To meet Hank please call the Project POOCH kennels at MacLaren in Woodburn to schedule a visit -- 503-982-4492.
