My Story
Meet Hank!
Hank is a 9 month old, 10lbs mixed Terrier breed dog who likes to lay down next to his people and loves petting.
His superpowers include getting along with people (including children), keeping quiet (rarely barking), and following his owners. He is still unsure about walking in unfamiliar places but enjoys walking around neighborhoods and parks. In terms of bathroom training, he is good at waiting to go outside and letting his owners know when he needs it but occasionally may need a pee pad when he's stuck in one place or in the house for a while. He loves being pet and praised for doing well.
Some of his favorite things are dog food and meat, but he's not picky with his food!
If you love calm, fuzzy pets who love being pet and held, then Hank might be the perfect match for you!
Hank is currently being fostered in Staten Island, New York. His adoption fee is $800.
Hank is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
