My Story

Hi I arrived here around Christmas so everyone celebrated by calling me Hallylou ! I'm about 12 weeks old and a lab / goodness only knows mix. My coat gleams and I've got a michievous twinkle in my eye. Everyone says I'm quite a good girl for my age and I'm learning lots of things at my foster home where I have 3 dogs, 5 cats and 4 chickens for playmates. I'd really love to be with my very own family for New Year though - how about it ? Housebroken - almost, will not soil crate and can last all night. General puppy inquisitiveness, gets into all sorts of things she shouldn't but will listen and modify behavior when told "NO" Socialises well with our 3 dogs, interested in the cats but sensible enough to back off when warned by them. Has chased the chickens but only in play of course and did stop and return when called back. Has learned "SIT" and "WAIT" or "STAY" mostly in connection with being fed. Walks quite well to the leash. Played well with the neighbors' children - 5, 7 and 9 yr olds. Too much for visiting 3 yr old !! (No surprises there...) Has met 2 horses and was intrigued but sensibly cautious. Hally is a confident, sensible pup who will weigh up a situation before plunging ahead. Actively seeks attention but is willing to lie quietly at your feet or takes herself into her crate when tired. Definitely got some sort of pointer/sporting dog in her - she has the stance when outside and alerted to movement/scents. If you are interested in Halleylou, just go to the website, www.caninerescue.org, select Adopt a Dog from the menu on the left side of the homepage. Just above the photo gallery you will see Adoption Application giving you a choice of 2 formats. Select one of these and complete the information requested then press send. Yes, it's that easy !
Call 716/326-PAWS for an appointment. And be sure to check out all the dogs and puppies eagerly awaiting homes on our Web site, www.caninerescue.org.
