My Story

The ones that come across as a bit shy are always the most loving and that is the absolute truth for Haku. He is adorable, big puppy eyes, golden butter fur, and melts at first touch. A puddle of love looking for a belly rub. Haku is currently just a pint-sized boy, at an adorable 47lbs, though he is still growing. Copy and paste link into browser to watch Haku's cuteness in motion! https://youtu.be/c0WB7v7Kj-4 When we are getting to know a dog we like to cover all the key elements of a dogs personality, leash walking, dog-friendliness, level of affection seeking, cat-tolerance etc. Introducing you to Haku within those categories really helps give you a thorough insight. Starting with leash walking, Haku has likely had little practice walking on a leash with a collar, which is common for a rescue pup. He stays close but will occasionally flop himself in the name of a belly-rub, which although it's cute, will easily be trained away with practice and positive reinforcement. Though he needs a little confidence building in new environments, his sweet nature and puppy charm make him a wonderful addition to any family. With a bit of love and patience, Haku will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. When it comes to his personality, Haku is best described as gentle and submissive. When meeting new people he is friendly and is somehow both eager and shy- a very cute combination! The same can be said for how he approaches dogs. He wants other dogs to know he is a friend so whether laying down to appear smaller or allowing them as much time as they like to smell him, he is calm and respectful when meeting any potential new friends. He would thrive in a home with a friendly female dog who can not only be a playmate but also help him build his confidence. When introduced to our house cat, Haku was curious but respectful and lost interest quickly. He did not attempt to pursue the cat as he walked around or when he jumped to a higher surface. From our observation Haku appears to be cat-tolerant and could easily live in a home with a dog-savvy feline-companion. Haku is still in his formative puppy stage so a home that can provide consistent love, guidance, occasional adventures and social time is important. He is at the perfect age for training and learning new things, which will double as confidence building. Given he is likely some type of German shepherd mix, he may pick up barking, as shepherds do, but with the right training and boundaries, his barking can be managed to ensure he knows when it is appropriate. Haku will likely grow to be an active boy. A yard for regular playtime would be great but with regular walks and play sessions, Haku could easily life the apartment/condo life. If you have another dog, they can enjoy endless fun together, which will also help Haku's confidence grow. Hakus sweet and gentle nature translates beautifully into a home environment. Seeing him relax on the couch once invited inside was incredibly sweet! He is great with people and has the potential to be wonderful with kids, especially those who are respectful of his space and not too pushy. Imagine your children growing up with a loyal, protective, and playful friend like Haku. His submissive nature makes him a gentle companion who is unlikely to overwhelm young ones. Haku is more than just a cute face; he is a loving, gentle, and playful pup who will bring light and joy to your home. Hes ready to learn, grow, and become an integral part of your familys life. If youre looking for a sweet, loyal, and playful puppy who is eager to find his forever home, Haku may just be the one for you. Give him the chance to be your loyal companion and watch as he blossoms into the confident, loving dog hes meant to be. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog youve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive.
