My Story

Meet Hailey !! This delightful and adorable boxer is looking for a forever home of her own. She is so fun and well behaved. She is an approx 2 year old, female boxer. She weighs 51 pounds and is full grown. Hailey is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She is heartworm tested negative. She came to us with some pretty severe skin and ear infection issues that were left untreated for a long time. She was definitely suffering and uncomfortable. We got her started on treatment for everything and thankfully she is feeling much better. She’s on the path to recovery but does have some minor hair loss around her ears. She’s done great with other dogs and is amazing with tiny dogs. She came to us with Nora Jean (posted separately) She is very gentle with little dogs and will snuggle up with them. She’s a bit shy with new dogs at first but that fades away quickly. She’s relatively submissive to other dogs but loves to play once she’s comfortable. She can be adopted with her tiny friend Nora Jean or without. They do really like each other and are adorable together but are not bonded and do absolutely fine apart. (They are fostered in different homes now and have no issues being separated) Hailey is fostered with cats and has been doing really well with them. She has lived with young kids and does really well with them. She does have the typical boxer trait of using her paws a lot and will paw at people to get there attention. She jumps up sometimes but is relatively gentle about it. Mostly it’s to try and sit in your lap or get some cuddles. Just some things to consider if you have tiny children in the home. She does great in the house. She has not had any potty accidents. She can be scared to go out in new places but still had no accidents while adjusting. She does fantastic on car rides and will sit or lay on the seat without bothering the driver. She also jumps in and out when asked. She is crate trained. She will occasionally get into things if left alone but she is very comfortable being crated while you’re asleep or away from home. She does still pull on the leash a bit. That’s really her only training issue to work through. She is so well behaved otherwise. Hailey has not had any aggression with food, treats, or toys with people or other animals. She loves to play with other dogs and shares very well with them. She is very gentle when taking treats. She was an angel at the vet and even though her ears were painful she let them do all the cleaning and tests. She can already sit and shake. She’s smart and understands commands such as crate, outside, inside, and takes direction very well when she’s corrected. She has so far had a moderate energy level but we suspect she may get more spunky once fully settled and healed. She is definitely excitable and will play bounce and chase you around. She has bursts of crazy boxer energy when excited but it’s not constant. She is ready to go on adventures or play but after will settle in when you’re relaxing. Her new family should plan for daily exercise to meet her needs but they aren’t excessive. Overall this dog is an absolute joy to have around. She’s just delightful and well behaved. Everyone that meets her says the same thing. She would be a great addition to most any family. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) ??Please message us directly at [email protected] with questions or to get an application.??
