My Story

PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION IN THE DOG'S PROFILE, AS WELL AS THE INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE BEFORE EMAILING US WITH QUESTIONS. Our Volunteers use up valuable time answering questions, when the answers are readily available on our website. Our adoptions come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. We are a foster-based rescue. We do not have a facility. MEET & GREETS FOR DOGS IN ONTARIO WILL ONLY BE ARRANGED ONCE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IS APPROVED. THANK YOU!!! Please visit our website for more information: https://www.niagaradogrescue.com/ or fill in our adoption application: https://niagaradogrescue.com/adoption-application.php OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found. This dog is currently located in: Kentucky Name: Hagen (20240218-10) Age: approx 5 years old Weight: 55lbs Gender: Male Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Border Collie Mix Colour: Black and white Neck size (for collar): Chest circumference (for harness): Height (from top of head): Length (from nose to base of tail): Crate size recommended: Good with women: yes, absolutely loves women Good with men: yes, he has shown to be a little hesitant at first meeting, but after that no concerning issues have been seen Good with kids: yes, he LOVES kids Good with other dogs: yes, he has been attacked several times so needs slow intros to ensure he feels safe. He prefers females and calm dogs in general. His owner reached out to a local rescuer/foster after he was attacked by a stray dog and asked if she could find a forever home for him. His foster and her grandkids adore Hagen but know that he deserves a home where he can be the main focus of love and attention, and not have to share it with so many other dogs. Hagen has been attacked by other dogs in the past, and because of this he is scared of unknown dogs at first. He prefers the company of female dogs and dogs that are generally calmer in nature. He absolutely ADORES kids so a home with kiddos would be amazing for him.
