My Story

Please read our Core Values prior to applying at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com/adopt/our-expectations. Updated 7/31/2024 I’m Gwen, a 10 month old Great Pyrenees/Beagle mix puppy. Mom thinks I have a good mix of both traits, but I have the fur of a beagle and look nothing like my brother, Reggie. I am currently about 45 pounds. I live with my brother, a canine foster brother as well as cat siblings. AND, I recently discovered kids and I love them. At a recent event, I hugged and kissed them for as long as I could. I am very active and love to run like the wind in the fenced in yard. I love to play keep away with my brother. I have that “beagle nose” and tend to ignore everything when I’m following a good scent. My leash walking skills are pretty good. My recall is good and getting better each day. I know how to sit and wait and am learning to lie down on command. I am very food motivated so that will help me as I continue my training. Since my sense of smell is outstanding, I would love to attend Scent work training after some basic obedience classes. My crate is my safe place and I love it. I sleep there overnight and when there is no one in the house to supervise me. You see, I am still a puppy and can sometimes find things that aren’t meant to be in my mouth. My favorite toys are the treat dispensing one I get when mom goes to work, peanut butter frozen inside a hollow bone, and a very thick antler. I love to find the squeaker inside the toys – and haven’t missed on yet, LOL! I am looking for a very active family who can take me on hikes, long walks and one that can keep me busy. A home with another dog and fenced yard is preferred so I can burn off my extra energy. Adoption application, home visit and adoption fee required. If you would like to apply for adoption, please complete the online application at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under ADOPT tab. Contact [email protected] for questions or if issues are encountered with the adoption application or general adoption process. Foster Homes are desperately needed in order to help more animals like this one. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. To find out more about becoming a Foster Parent, see our website at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under VOLUNTEER tab. As part of our adoption agreement, we require that you and your adopted canine attend a minimum of one group basic obedience course within 4 months of adoption. If adopting a puppy under 4 months old, we also require a group puppy socialization course be started immediately upon adoption. In addition, we require that puppies under 6 months of age will not be alone for more than 4 hours at a time in an 8 hour workday. We highly encourage working families to consider older puppies and adult dogs, but if your heart is set on a puppy, please consider doggie daycare. Pet ID: S. Sauve PA Kennel License # 5011
