Gwen’s current situation: Gwen is much loved in her home but unfortunately, her owner can no longer care for her due to health related issues. Physical Characteristics: Gwen is a 7 ½ year old Belgian Malinois mix, but don’t be fooled, this girl is in great shape, weighing in at approx. 65 lbs. She is spayed and up to date with vaccines. She loves being around her ‘people’ and to be included in all activities. She warms up quickly to new people and loves to tease her feline sister. Personality: True to her breed, Gwen is intelligent, curious, attentive, and smart. She is good with all people, including children, and happily welcomes them into her home. Gwen loves being outdoors and has a good understanding of basic obedience, including a good recall. She loves learning and is quick to understand. She has a repertoire of tricks that include walking backwards, puppy push-ups and touch, amongst other things. On command, she looks both ways before crossing the street. She loves to please and listens well to what is being asked of her. She is also a great partner in play, especially fetch and tug. No crates for this girl. She is non-destructive and can be left alone in the home without incident. Bath time is one of her favourite activities. Although Gwen has good leash manners, she is physically strong and her ideal home would be one with an experienced confident handler. She responds best to a confident leader with clear communication skills. Prior to adoption, Gwen will be going to the vet for a full examination and medical check-up.
