When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Gustaf, and I'm a two year old male GSD who was adopted out sixteen months ago when I was a cute puppy and recently returned because I was given too much freedom which led to problems. I ended up chasing bicycles and more recently, I grabbed the mailman's calf. I went from a home with my family to living in a boarding kennel because all foster slots are currently full, and this change has been hard on me. I'm guarded when I first meet new people, but I do warm up over time with slow introductions. The rescue is hoping to find a home without young children as they can open doors accidentally, which leads to problems because, like most GSDs, I like to protect my pack and turf. I'm a good boy who needs to understand boundaries. The rescue is now working with me on this. I'm an active boy who would love to find an adopter who will invest the time, resources, and energy into training abd properly socializing me so I can be an obedient dog. I do have some anxiety but my mom has found that CBD treats work well for me. I have done well around other dogs, but I don't care to have them in my personal space yet, but we're working on this. I LOVE to play fetch! I've also done well with the resident kitties. I've been non-reactive to people and other dogs while on walks. I know sit/stay, down/stay, come, heel and place.
