My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Gus! He is a basset hound and is 1.5 years old with birth date of 4/23/2023. Gus has multiple amazing features from his long ears to his big paws and sweet demeanor. He is an all-around perfect dog and will make a great addition for a family that is looking for an easy-going and loving dog! He is potty trained (still needs to be kept on a schedule) and crate trained when home alone (not his favorite but he is learning it is a good place). He will initially bark when going in his crate but has improved everyday on settling in rather than being vocal. Gus has a nose leads him to food. While a nice guy, he will steal food out of your hand if you are not watching! Very motivated by food which is great for training. At night, he prefers to sleep in your bed and under your blankets. He thinks he is a lap dog and wants nothing more than to cuddle you. He loves to go on walks and car rides. Gus enjoys playing with other dogs, doing zoomies around the yard, and tossing around a squeaky toys. Gus is also good with children and cats. Because Gus is so easy going and good with all, he will fit easily into any home that is willing to give him all the love and attention he deserves! He cannot wait to meet you! Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application. Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet! A home visit is required prior to adoption. Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination: Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue. We do not guarantee this determination.
