Gunny

Gunny and his sister Heidi, were surrendered to the Meade County Animal Shelter when their elderly guardian could no longer care for them. ARC pulled them the day they were scheduled for euthanasia. They were rightfully terrified the first few days at ARC, but even terrified, they were very sweet and just wanted attention. Gunny NEEDS a "job"!!! He had a DNA test and it confirms what we've seen in him during his stay at ARC. Check out his results here, https://www.wisdompanel.com/app/s/ymcb39f. He is driven to "herd" our farm animals, but from the other side of the fence, so a little frustrating for him. Gunny enjoys going for walks, and does pretty well on leash once we get started. He loves attention, to play and to earn treats! He would LOVE a nice big yard to run in, and he played well with his sister, but she was adopted! He may do well with another dog, but we'd have to do a meet and greet to be sure they are compatible. He has been working with a volunteer dog trainer on leash walking, impulse control and basic manners. He enjoys chasing the water from the hose and cooling off in his kiddie pool! He is a very sweet boy, he loves attention, but has a tendency get overly excited and jump, but we think giving him a "job", training and exercise will help him with that! He and his sister got the chance to meet some very nice and well-behaved kids and they did great. Although a little unsure at first, they enjoyed getting pets, getting treats and occasionally sneaking in a kiss! We have been working with him on some basic manners, he is learning to not jump for attention, "four on the floor", and sit. Heidi was recently adopted and Gunny seems to be doing fine with her gone. Of course he would love is very own home just like Heidi found!
