Gunner is a very nice dog. His birthday is Jan 2, so he's only 9-months-old. He's extra-large, but gentle. He is housebroken and crate-trained. He has done very well with the my 3-yr old and 5 yr-old children and our other dogs. He really likes to play! He can fetch, sit and shake. He's shown a mild interest in the cats, but no chasing, just a wagging tail. According to his family, Gunner still chews. He has been very well behaved in our house so far, he has not tried to get on the furniture once. I'll update again soon after we've gotten to know him a bit more.
10/27/08 UPDATE: Gunner is AWESOME! He looks very much like a large yellow lab, but his personality is more of a mastiff. He is still a puppy, so he likes to play and needs some exercise, but he is also very docile. He is pretty calm and very well behaved in the house! He is completely housebroken and crate-trained. His crate will come with him along when he is adopted as well as a few other doggy supplies that his former owner sent with him. Gunner continues to do well with the other dogs and cats in the home. He is very gentle with the kids, although he doesn't always realize how big he is, so a family would want to watch him around very small children as he could accidently knock them over.
10/29/08 UPDATE: We tried to weigh him, but he's so big he can't fit on our scale and it kept showing "error" when Scott picked him up and stood on the scale. I'm guessing he's 90-100 pounds, but that's just a guess. He's definitely going to fill out more! He's very calm, though and easy-going in the house.
Will someone please adopt Gunner and give him a forever home? $145.00 adoption fee. (his vet bill was around $140, that is why his adoption fee is $145)
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first. If you have questions or want to request an application, please send an email to the email address listed. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues.
