Guffery

This week, Guffery has gotten a chance to take a break from shelter life for a few days, and it has been truly incredible to see how transformative some decompression time in a quiet home environment is for him. He has been so much more relaxed and has been sleeping a ton. And he is an amazing snuggler! He will lay on my lap for hours, just loving all the pets. For the 6 weeks he's been at CARE, petting him has been nearly impossible due to his constant state of stress and overstimulation Guffery has also proven to be potty trained, and he does really well in a crate. On Thursday, he was in his crate for 10 hours, and just slept peacefully the entire day. Guffery has also participated in playgroups at CARE, and CARE's volunteer trainers believe he would be able to live with other dogs after a period of separation and slow intros (which they would love to assist any foster or adopter with). Cat friendliness is still an unknown, but he has shown signs that he has potential to live with cats, as well.
