My Story

Gracie Loo had a rough start in life, she appeared one day tied to the sign in front of my office, skin and bones, hair missing, covered with fleas, ears eaten up by bugs and in just pitiful shape. We believe that she must have belonged to a homeless person, there are many in this area, they all know I work with rescue dogs and they knew I would take her in. Gracie's first visit to the vet was for overall check up and developing a strategy for getting her healthy. She had an upper respiratory infection for which she got antibiotics, turns out she was full of hookworms - meds for that, special shampoo for her skin and heartworm meds (she is heartworm negative, at this time). A couple of weeks later she went back and got all her vaccinations and the vet believes she is about 2 years old. You will notice in the photos that she has a bit of a crooked jaw - my vet thinks she was either hit by a car or kicked in the face, it has healed and there is nothing to be done. A couple weeks after that visit she was spayed. She is due to have her stitches taken out in about a week, so now it's time to find her that perfect forever home. Gracie is sweet and loving and has never met a human she didn't like, she is our office dog right now and greets all our customers with a smile and wagging tail. She is good with other dogs as long as there is no food around. She also has a high prey drive, she will chase with intent cats, lizards, butterflies, etc. understandable when you realize she probably had to hunt for her food and fight to keep it from other dogs. She loves to be with her human and will readily accompany you on any car ride you would like to take her on. She is a sweet, sweet girl that needs to find that perfect forever home. She is crate trained and reasonably house broken. As long as you are there to let her out on a regular basis she won't go potty inside. We love her, but know that she needs her own home and person.
