Gracie

Good day! My name is Gracie. I am a sweet gentle soul who is still learning to trust the world around me. I am a 4 year old Dachshund, recently rescued. Life in a home is still new and scary to me. I currently live with other dogs and kids. I have gotten along with everyone, but I would definitely prefer a calmer forever home. My foster mom thinks a calm doggie friend would help me come out of my shell. My foster dog siblings are young and silly, and their roughhousing play scares me. I'm friendly with kids, though I might need a little extra time to warm up to them. I would thrive best in a quiet home where I can feel safe and loved. I am really good about going potty outside. My foster mom has a little fenced area set up for me. Remember that in transition I may have a few accidents. My foster mom says accidents are normal in new environments. I haven't played with any toys yet, I never had any to enjoy before. I really love a warm, soft bed. I like to be tucked into a blanket at night. I really am the sweetest girl, never defensive when I am scared. I have a long way to go to learn that life in a home is not so scary. I will need a family that is patient and willing to help me learn to be loved. I will need them to understand I will need a space to decompress and get used to my new family.
