My Story

If you have ever met a dog that is so grateful for being rescued, you know the look in their eyes that just says "thanks"! This pretty much sums up our dude Goose. Goose has not had an easy life. I don't think a meal ever came easy for him. I'm not sure if he was ever bathed or brushed. The fleas had pretty much set up camp in Goose's fur and had no reason to leave. The fly strike on his ears tell of years of being in filth and flies eating away at the flesh on his ears. Goose came to us after a good Samaritan picked him up on a foggy morning in Los Angeles. She wasn't sure what she saw staggering over to the guard shack where she worked, but she knew he needed help. Goose was skin and bones, dehydrated and exhausted. This good Samaritan took him in, bathed him and gave him a warm bed. She was determined to get him off of the streets that had become his home. She asked around and found no one who claimed Goose, although heard stories that perhaps Goose had been tossed out of a car several weeks earlier by owners who no longer wanted him. Whatever the reason may be, we will never know. All we know, is that we are sure we can show him what the good life looks like and assure him that the streets will never be his home again. Goose is probably 3-5 years old and is slowly gaining weight and will be back to where he should be in no time. He loves other dogs and gets along nicely with all. Goose is ready to find his forever home with someone who will love and cherish him and never throw him out on the street like garbage.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $400 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.

Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.

We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Please click on Events to see where we'll be next!
