Gomer

We were asked to help promote Gomer, a young dog at the Springtown shelter, who is looking for a Christmas miracle. Please share this post and help us find him a loving home. Small rural shelters have a tough time finding homes for the animals in their care. All it takes is one person who sees his sweet face and falls in love. Please help us by sharing. COURTESY POSTING My name is Sarah Spencer, I am one of the new ACO’s with the Springtown Animal Shelter. We are a small shelter and are only able to house about ten dogs and 6 cats. I am reaching out to see how we could partner with your rescue group to place our longest resident into a foster home or a rescue center where he would have the ability to be a dog. We have had our sweet Gomer now since August 2023, he was found as a stray . He is a Chesapeake mix retriever , only 10 months old, and is now developing kennel stenosis with being at the shelter this long . Gomer loves to be outside, water and squeaky balls are his absolute favorite thing! He was the nicest, friendliest dog we had , loved kids, other dogs and people. With Gomer being here so long, he is becoming protective of his kennel, he does a low growl and hides and barks now at anyone other than the shelter staff . This is why we are trying to find him a placement before we run out of other options.
