Goldie

Goldie is a healthy young adult girl of about 40 lbs. Her special needs are needing more socialization. We have definitely seen worse cases than hers but, she will need special consideration and patience to earn her her trust. She arrived in early June after appearing with 3 pups near a farm. She was loyal to come and go to this farm house but, was always elusive. Her pups were raised playfully and were rescued to safety. She remained elusive until she could be caught and brought to the shelter. She has progressed and has learned to trust and enjoy her handler. It will take a new person a little time to show her she is welcome and cherished. She isn't aggressive and she won't willingly come to us but will sit and wait to be retrieved. Another social dog helps speed her transformation. She is great with other pets and shares well. UPDATE: As of Sept-Oct she is more relaxed with familiar faces and enjoys belly rubs and playtime. She is now fully vetted and in a foster home. She has relaxed and spends her days wrestling and playing with two other dogs and loves coming inside the home to rest!! She is a sweetie and a joy to see her be happy. We feel she will transition to a new home and another social dog would be highly recommended. We are a rural shelter with high intakes. As a result, the shelter dogs are not guaranteed safety. We do our best but, we need help. ADOPTION FEES APPLY- Dogs $150 Cats $80. (We are not set up for credit or debit payments.)
