My Story

For inquiries email [email protected] Fee: $400 Location: Norfolk, VA UPDATE 5/26/2024: Things to consider when applying to adopt Gloria: • She is approximately 12 years old • She needs a quiet home with an experienced dog owner. • Although she's a good eater, she's still not gaining weight. She frequently has GI troubles. • She's had chronic untreated ear infections prior to coming into rescue & may have allergies. • She is happy in her tent snoozing most of the time & uses the pee pad in there but will also bark to go out at times. • She likes to explore the yard & house. • She's currently taking metronidazole, prednisone and gabapentin as needed. • She eats prescription dog food, chicken & sweet potato. • She's a sweet girl but not a big cuddle bug. • She's good about taking her pills but hates her ear meds. • Happy with other dogs & people but is a bit of a loaner. What my foster mom says about me: Gloria is sweet but not as interactive as other dogs. She is older and has some health issues but she could be happy in a quiet, adult home. She would love a fenced yard to explore and a quiet place to settle for senior snoozes, good meals and lap time when asked. Gloria is older but would be a sweet little companion for someone who is home all the time and has a heart for seniors. Gloria is ready to live out her Golden Years with you!  UPDATE 3/25/24: We are happy to report Gloria‘s mammary tumors were benign. She has been spayed and also had a dental. She is ready for adoption! We couldn’t be happier!  Gloria was in the Norfolk Animal Shelter. When we inquired about her were told us she had mammary tumors, needed to be spay and was in desperate need of a dental.  We immediately took her into our care. She has been seen by the vet to update her vaccines and to access her medical condition. She had a chest x-ray and there did not seem to be any metastasis at this time. She will have surgery March 18th. We will post updates on our social media after her surgery.
