My Story

Are you looking for a new family member who is a friendly, funny girl? Then, Git is a perfect match for you! She is "Pyrilicious!" Gitta ("Gee tah") is a nine month old Great Pyrenees Anatolian Shepherd mix who weighs 78 lbs. We expect her to weigh between 85lbs and 95lbs when she is full grown. Her personality is that of a typical Pyr, friendly to all, loves other animals, and very laid back. She has been around cats and seems not to react to them. I believe with some training, she would make a wonderful therapy dog. She has been with my 6 month old niece, 2 year old niece, and adult strangers, and she interacts with them very slowly and gently. Her calm nature makes her very approachable. Gitta wants to please and is eager to be a good family member. She has a nice thick coat, but it will not require the grooming that a pure bred would. She sheds minimally. Git is a real kisser; she loves to rest her head on the side of the mattress and kiss me before we go to nite nite or kiss me over the back of the couch. She shows"guardian" tendencies and can be a bit of a wanderer, so she will need a fenced (not horse fenced) yard to play in. She lets me know immediately if she sees or hears anything unusual. We are working on basic obedience. She is fully housetrained, crate trained, vetted, and microchipped. She does not like water, so a simple spray bottle is all that is needed to curb normal puppy behaviors. For her age, her puppy behaviors are minimal. Gitta likes to be with people and other animals and wants to please everyone, so she is a real joy to be around. Gitta needs a loving home who is looking for a big cuddle bug! No apartments please. Home and vet check required. If you would like an application to adopt Git, please email [email protected]
