"Hi I'm Gisela! I was rescued at the end of my euthanasia day from a Southern CA shelter. I've been waiting for over 500 days for my forever home. I don't understand why no one wants to meet me. " Gisela was rescued on her deadline day from a Los Angeles shelter. There was no plan for her, but she was so sweet and people worked hard to advocate for her rescue. She went into board and train for 5 weeks in early February 2023 (where she did great!). Gisela is a sensitive, sweet and submissive dog. What I love about her: She eagerly wags her tail whenever we encounter anyone on our walks. Gisela loves to snuggle with you. She plays gently with you and toys, but will destroy toys (including the toughest Kongs) if allowed. She walks well, knows basic commands, is crate trained, relatively quiet, and is treat motivated. When she's happy she chases her tail, both directions. What you need to know about her: She's not good with other dogs. She'll walk by them or let them walk by without losing her mind, but she gets overwhelmed when she's around them. She does try to assert herself with them initially, and if the dog is beta or neutral then it could be ok. She boarded for the 5 weeks and came out emaciated bc of the stress, and when I had to board her recently bc I was going on vacation she dropped weight again even though they fed her all of her food. Gisela is approx. 3 years old, 40+ lbs., spayed and UTD on her vaccines.
