My Story

When you look through Ginny’s photos you will see the last photo is the one taken of her when we first took her in. She had found her way into an R.V. park in hopes of finding food and a soft, safe place to lay down and rest. This poor girl had most likely been dumped in the woods to starve to death. When she arrived at the park she was starving, and covered in fleas and ticks. The owner of the park contacted us and asked if we could help. We took her in and went directly to the vet clinic to have her checked out. She appears to be approximately two years old, was already heartworm positive, and had already had more than one litter of puppies. Who knows what became of those poor little souls? Yet, for no reason I can think of, she was still a loving, trusting, friendly dog. Ginny is on the slow kill method heartworm treatment and will soon be tested again. As you can plainly see by the other five photos, she has been getting plenty of food, and loving care. She is a happy girl now. She is good natured and good with people. She appears to be good with most other dogs. The only issue appears to be that she is food possessive, and I guess it’s easy to see why she might be that way. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and currently on heartworm treatment. Ginny is most likely a Staffordshire Terrier mix, two to three years of age, and ready for her best life ever to begin, with a loving forever family. If you are interested in being her family, you must own your home and have a secure fenced yard. You will need to fill out an adoption application through our website at www.humanesocietycitrus.com and for additional questions, contact Karron by email at [email protected] or call her at 352-586-9699. The adoption donation for Ginny is $150.00
