My Story

Heartworm Prevention is given on the 11th of each month Ginger3 is 15 pounds fun-loving, squirrel-chasing, snuggling joy who is ready to bound into your heart. She has never met a human stranger (she's friendly and eager to meet new people), but can be defensive around larger or enthusiastic dogs. Given a few minutes to get to know new furry friends, any dog can be her buddy. Ginger sleeps in a crate at night but would be thrilled to burrow under your covers for mutual warmth. She is very affectionate and enjoys being held, cuddled, and exchanging kisses. She is enthusiastic about car rides and walks with a leash, eagerly sniffing every tree and fencepost for places to leave her mark. Her personality leans towards dominant around other dogs. Ginger is currently in a home with two other dachshunds. She entertains herself by spending most of her time outdoors where she patrols the backyard for squirrels, rats, and other small animals. When she meets a cat, she seems to want to chase the cat. She has a high prey drive, but she has proven that with the right feline roommate, she could learn to respect cats. If interested in Ginger, please complete an application. Ginger was surrendered by her owners after the landlord would not let them keep her. She is fully vetted and is ready for either a foster home or a forever home. Could her forever home be with you? If so, please complete an application at www.ctdr.org .
