*WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. Meet Ginger known by her fosters as Gingi and Gingersnap for her vivacious personality. She is a female beagle around 6-8 years old and 42 lbs. She is currently with a foster family after her owner surrendered her to a local emergency clinic when they could not afford her care. She had deep wounds on all her paws and her chest. They have healed but she does have some scars. Ginger is a middle aged gal on a weight loss journey but her extra weight does not stop her from enjoying some zoomies with other dogs in the yard. Ginger is great with cats and highly food motivated. She is crate trained but currently sleeps with us in bed. Ginger can be a bit stubborn and occasionally has accidents in the house, she is making slow progress with this. Ginger is looking for someone to share her weight loss journey with her. Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
