Gimpy

Mama and Gimpy are officially adoptable! If you recall, they were the Jersey County dogs that always traveled Rt 109 between Godfrey and Jerseyville, in search of roadkill for food. Although the dogs were owned, it was a constant cycle of breeding/inbreeding and puppies trying to survive the elements before they died, disappeared, or got picked up by Good Samaritans. Both dogs were semi feral. They had never been inside a home. They were not properly socialized and would alligator roll or completely freeze when leashed. At some point, Gimpy had been hit by a car and suffered a sever dislocation. Those days are long gone! Both Mama and Gimpy have learned to love the comforts of a home. They now desire human attention and are the sweetest dogs. They love toys, and especially love their daily walks on leash. They like car rides and do great with kids, dogs and cats. They are also house and kennel trained. Mama and Gimpy are Shepherd mixes, approximately five years old. They have been together their entire lives. We would love to keep them together, but feel they would do equally great if separated. Gimpy had leg amputation from a severe dislocation, but gets around perfectly fine. A secure fenced yard a must! If adopted separately, the adoption fee is $175. If adopted together, the adoption fee is $300. This includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, wormer, and maintaining heartworm and flea prevention while in our care.
