We figure he is about 6-7 years old, and although he’s just middle-aged, he does have some vision deficiency. Because of this, he can sometimes be initially barky and jumpy in his kennel to strangers and kick up a fuss, but it's all a show -- totally. If you walk straight into the kennel, he quickly offers a "sit pretty" for a cookie!
Sadly, his initial kennel barkiness isn't going to get him adopted any time soon, so he needs to be able to showcase his talents, hopefully, "out and about" in the real world as a foster dog. Outside the shelter he’s happy happy happy, and just wants to go for long walks!
Gilligan would really love to have an opportunity to be someone's foster dog, or better yet, a "foster to adopt" dog. Someone spent time in his past life teaching him tricks, and we anticipate that he will be a low maintenance pet in the home.
P.S.: Gilligan is w-a-y smarter than his namesake!
Please be advised that our dogs are strays, so we do not have any background history on them. To meet any of the dogs, please visit the Vancouver Animal Shelter (VAS) at 1280 Raymur Avenue in Vancouver, or call 604-871-6888.
