My Story

Gia is a little over 60 pounds, house trained, and crate trained. She knows sit, down, and we are working on stay. She is on the shy side, so it can take a little time for her to warm up to people and other dogs. She has done well at doggie day care in the large dog group, actively playing with many different dogs and appropriately distancing herself when she is ready for alone time (or a nap!). She enjoys getting her zoomies out in the backyard. Gia enjoys walks (especially the sniffing part!). She is working on her trail manners: sitting to let bikes and other dogs go by. She does get excited and pulls on leash at times, especially when she sees rabbits and some other dogs. Gia has met children 18 month to 12 years old in highly supervised environments and has been gentle with them, approaching them slowly and sniffing (no jumping). Gia has not met a cat. Gia has been in foster care since late January, where she has had a chance to show her sweetest self. She enjoys human companionship. You will be greeted by full-body wiggles and little bird sounds when you get home. Gia will gladly show you her toys and lay nearby while you do chores. She currently resides with two grumpy old man dogs (about 35 pounds each, one is paralyzed). She treats them with the respect they deserve and gives them the distance they prefer. Prior to going into foster care, Gia went on a Doggie Day Out with a shelter volunteer, check out the video of her adventure here: https://tiktok.com/t/ZTLahjVyf/
