Gia is loyal and sweet to those who allow her time to develop trust. She’s shy and wary of strangers at first, but once she warms up to you, she’ll be your loyal friend for life and constant shadow. Gia is a senior lady with plenty of love and life to give her family. As expected with her age, she also has arthritis which means that she can’t take as long a walk as her heart desires. And, her vision isn’t as sharp in dark or low light situations which means she’ll be a little cautious entering new places or meeting new people. Gia is a sweet, affectionate and gentle dog. She has a calm and relaxed demeanor. She loves to snuggle with her human on the couch as she winds down for the evening. And…she’ll do anything for a hotdog or a tasty chicken treat, or anything off your plate, really. Gia enjoys dinner time with gusto! And, if you like taking scenic car rides, she would love to be your co-pilot. She is a well-behaved traveler. Gia would do best in a home with someone who has experience caring for senior dogs with arthritis, and who is willing to give her the extra patience and time it takes to earn her trust and respect her boundaries. She does best with gentle, patient correction - Gia is intelligent and likes to have input on her life’s decision. She would be happiest as the only dog or with a calm, well-behaved canine companion. She loves children and would do best in a home with considerate, older children. It would be great if her new family had a low-stress, quiet environment with minimal stairs, and plenty of comfortable places for her to rest. Gia is a special dog who deserves to live out her golden years with a loving family.
