GERTIE

Please contact foster at [email protected] Gertie is a precious angel. She is the best snuggler! She listens to commands. She knows sit well, and is learning Leave it and down. She goes easily into her crate (especially with a little treat reward!). She is crated during the day while i am at work. I go home at lunch time and walk her. She also crates most nights. Sometimes i let her sleep in the bed. She does not appear to be food or toy aggressive. She is great with all other dogs. Plays well and listens to most cues. Sometimes the puppy in her makes her sniff a little too long. She loves the dog park. I do not know if she is good with cats or kids. She is working on her play biting. We are learning to be gentle and that bites while playing can sometimes hurt. She responds well to Yelps. She does bark when first meeting people. We are doing some training around the plaza midwood area where it is busy with people. She is learning fast. She is great in the car as well. My only concern is that she is extremely strong. As she has gained weight and gotten her strength back, controlling her has gotten a little harder. Since she is only 9 months old I am concerned that if she keeps growing I will be unable to properly handle her. She wears a harness and using the front clip helps a lot with the pulling. We are also going to try a plastic pinch collar for additional training. I would adopt her immediately if I knew she wouldn't grow anymore.
