We wanted to give you an update on our sweetheart, George. We adopted "George Bailey" in January 2005 when he was 9 weeks old. When we saw the pictures of him and his littermates on Petfinder, we fell in love. When we went to meet him and his siblings we knew we could not leave there without taking one with us. The mother had delivered her puppies in the care of a Hedgesville Hounds foster and who were then raised by a loving family with young children and dogs while continuing to receive loving care from their mama. We were able to meet mama and see her wonderful personality. The human foster mom was great about helping us learn the different puppies' personalities to decide who was best for us. But in the end, it was George who chose us. Our youngest son was just 18 months old at the time, so he sat on daddy's lap while our other two sons played with the seven puppies. It was George who came over to our toddler and laid down, placing his head in our son's lap. George stole our hearts and we brought him home to be our forever friend. He has brought nothing but pure joy to our family. Without Hedgesville Hounds there to take in a very pregnant mama in desperate need of care, we would not have our sweet George Bailey. So we are forever grateful to Hedgesville Hounds for helping us find our perfect pet who has become a loving companion and a true family member. Thank you!
This beautiful litter of 7 have just turned 8 weeks of age, and are ready to go to their adoptive homes.
Born on Halloween in foster care, these adorable pups have known nothing but love and nurturing care, and they are ready to hurtle their roly-poly bodies into your arms and heart.
They are all hopeful, joyful, nuzzly, playful, funny, and irresistible. Their mother, a Beagle/Lab mix, was in foster care when she gave birth, so we know she is their mother; although with their fuzzy, thick coats and floppy ears, they look for all the world like little Golden Retrievers.
Appearances not withstanding, they have obviously flourished from their mother's wonderfully loving, doting heart, and her patient and valiant care.
Healthy, vigorous, and growing into their large puppy heads and round tummies, these pups thrill to the sight of humans, and delight in their own tumbling, bumbling puppy play. Their human foster mom reports that the puppies romp so enthusiastically that they often must flop down for an impromptu puppy nap right in the middle of a game, > all tuckered out. They are good eaters, and have their first round of shots.
Each of the pups was named for a character in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life."
There are 4 little females:
The 3 male pups are:
As for the puppies themselves, they are all bell-ringers, angels of the first order, and very wonderful.
