GARTH - URGENT!!

GARTH NEEDS EITHER SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO ADOPT A SENIOR DOG OR A RESCUE ASAP!! Garth is a male purebred Golden Retriever who came to the shelter as a "stray" though we have doubts about that story. Garth is a Senior dog, estimated to be around 12 years of age though up front, he doesn't look his age. When Garth was examined by our vet, it was discovered that he was not only a Senior boy, but he had several teeth missing as the result of his older age. In addition to that, it was also discovered that he has a benign tumor on one of his mammary glands. Upon the vet's advice, and since the tumor isn't cancerous, it was not removed. The vet stated that he would die of old age long before the tumor would kill him and due to his age, he didn't want to do any unnecessary surgery. Garth is super sweet and a wonderful, loving boy. We know it must be confusing for him to be in the shelter and away from his family but obviously, his family no longer wanted him because of his age and they callously dumped him into the shelter. We will do our best to find a place for Garth to go so he can live out his life with someone who will love him regardless of his age.
