My Story

NOVEMBER 27, 2007

Gage was left in the shelter's drop off cages with no information. He is possibly from a sleddog yard. He is somewhat shy, but likes pets and is playful. Good with other dogs. Gage can easily jump 4-5 foot fences.

Gage went mushing with our volunteers on Nov 6th, running in a 5-dog team:
"Larger than Frisk, Gage is a driven and fast sleddog. He likes the girls and doesn't like to stop. He would get over the neckline, under the gangline and through the harness of the dog beside him...just because he wanted to GO!!! He is maybe a 50 pound dog but is a tad chunky. We tried both Gage and Frisk in lead, but they were too excited and didn't know what was expected of them. Being as driven dogs as they are, both might be good leaders if given time. These 2 dogs don't need a hard hand...they just need someone to accept their craziness and deal with it in a gentle manner."
