My Story

This is a private adoption that SOS posts as a courtesy. All follow ups need to be directed to the indicated party listed below description. Gabe is new to rescue just arriving 7-7-07. He is an Australian Cattle Dog, about 8 months old and needs to see the vet for his neuter, shots, and micro-chip. We were told he was surrendered to an OH shelter due to "killing cats" on the farm. He was introduced to a kitten at the shelter and he ignored it. He will be further tested on his interest in cats. Gabe is great with people and kids, he just needs some manners around them. He rode very well on his transport and everyone commented on how nice of a dog he was for them. He likes to play with toys and LOVES the pool! He doesn't hesitate to stick his head right under the water! Gabe is a typical ACD puppy, which means he is a busy body and unless directed to constructive play he will get himself in trouble. He loves to play the cattle dog games with his foster friends until he is exhausted. He will go to work with me and learn his basic obedience, crate training, kennel training, housebreaking, and general manners. Please contact Corene at [email protected] for more information on Gabe. Go to http://acdrescuemi.tripod.com/index.htm for more information on the ACD breed and procedures for filling out an application. Dog adoptions under 1 yr of age require herding breed experience to ensure the dog is not bounced back to rescue when it displays typical ACD behaviors.
