Hey there, I'm one year old Gabe and I've never met a stick I don't like! Toys are nice, sticks are even better; on a long walk carrying a stick the whole way is job numero uno; after a trip outside to take care of business, I can't wait to come in and show you my latest stick!
Bet you'd like to know a little more about me while you're out gathering up sticks for me to play with - - I'm about a year old and a pretty skinny 50ish pounds, but with the help of my foster parents I'm plumping up. I was left at a shelter where I got dangerously sick with pneumonia, so it's taken me a while to get back on my paws. I'm all better now and back to my playful self.
My foster mom says I'm very good natured (even when I was so sick). I'm an affectionate boy who loves tummy rubs and bonds easily. I'm housetrained and use a doggie door and I know some commands too -- sit, come when called, "go outside" (to potty) and "go get your toy"; am working on stay. I'm a pretty happy greeter so the "4 on the floor greeting" is a work in progress. A good boy in the house, I've earned free roam when left alone for several hours. If things are moving outside the windows, I'll enthusiastically alert you! I don't chew things, but on occasion will rearrange your shoes. If you invite me, I'll join you on the sofa.
On the leash I walk nicely and only pull when I want to say "Hi" to another dog or meet a new person. Being a young Lab I love my daily walks for exercise and the chance to ferret out a new stick.
Got sticks, got love and a big heart for a sweet and playful young Lab? Hope we'll b
