My Story

My name is Gabby and I am a hearing Dal. Sometimes I choose not to hear and can be stubborn but I am very smart. I was born in November 2003 so I am now 14 months young. My favorite color is green. It matches my brown spots so well. I have been to a PetSmart school and learned some voice and hand commands. I still have the book so we can continue to work with each other. I will let you know when I have to go out to use the bathroom but still have some accidents if left too long (over 9 hours). My barking at strange noises and delivery people will keep you safe. I don’t like the leash but my owner says I am learning on a gentle lead. I love my collar (‘my pretty’) and know that it means we can go outside the fence on a leash. I love to walk my owners. I am not allowed table scraps and go to my crate when upset, scared, or have gotten something I shouldn’t have and need a time out. My interest are chasing balls Chewing on Rawhide bones Playing with my toys inside And biting at snowflakes. Some of my bad habits are: Jumping fences (I have learned to stay in the fenced area) Digging holes Jumping up on people Sneaking behind you to grab something I shouldn’t have (socks, pieces of exercise equipment, garden hose nozzles) I love to play keep-away. I currently live in a house with a cat and my two owners. The cat and I don’t sleep with each other but we do love to play chase. My best friend lives next door. Angle is a German Shepard and comes to play with me. I like to sleep on the couch and I just love to curl up with my people. My owner’s friends excite me a lot when they visit and I am so happy that sometimes I piddle on the floor. I just can’t help myself yet. I don’t understand the little people that come by. They are too little to play with and I want to play so bad. I need to stay in another room when they are around until we get used to each other. I love my current owners but they travel too much and I need more attention. Gabby is being fostered in Chester, VA. ***********************************************************
