My Story

GABBIE *House-trained *Good with children *Loves people *Good with Dogs *Good with Cats www.youluckydogrescue.org - Adoption Application can be found at this website. Meet 6-year-old Gabbie! This sweet girl is looking for her forever home and would love to be a part of your family. Gabbie is an Irish Red and White Setter, she weighs 55lbs. and has an affectionate personality that makes her perfect for families with older children (over 8 years old). She loves to be around people and would make a great companion for someone looking for a loyal and loving dog. She is dog-friendly and especially loves puppies, but can be slower to warm up without proper introductions. Gabbie has a bit of anxiety, which we believe is from being left alone in a house for days when her original owner passed away. Gabbie enjoys romping around the outdoors and would do great on hikes. Gabbie recently had TWO TPLO surgeries, correcting the damaged cruciate ligament in her back knees. TPLO surgery involves cutting the tibia (shin bone) and repositioning the joint surface at a better angle. The bone is held in its new position by metal implants, made up of screws and plates. The beauty of TPLO surgery is the new angle absorbs the impact of the femur (thigh bone) so that the tibia no longer shoots forward relative to it when the dog takes a step. Gabbie has healed well and is ready to start looking for a family. Ms. Gabbie is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and ready to go home with you! We know you'll fall in love with her just as we have. For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. You can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email [email protected] for additional details that are not included in this biography. PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time. Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives. The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue. We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
