My Story

FROSTY WAS ADOPTED BY HIS FOSTER MOM!! In early February, 2004 Frosty was adopted by Mara – his foster trainer. A former mid-distance sled dog, he had no previous experience as a skijor dog. After approximately 6 weeks of training, he is now a capable, dependable single skijor dog; he also works well running with another dog. Frosty learned his basic commands quickly and is rapidly improving with overtaking and passing, as well as with head-on passes. He has a great work ethic, and can be relied on to lead strong for distances of 10 or more miles without losing interest or getting distracted. His longest skijoring trip in a day so far has been 22 miles. Frosty is very affectionate, loves attention – both from humans and other dogs – and adjusts easily to new dogs and new situations. He is proving to be an excellent skijoring dog for recreation and trips…as well as a steady, friendly and attentive companion. As a skijor/companion dog, one couldn’t ask for more!
