Frieda is now spayed and ready for adoption. She currently weighs 61 lbs and may top the scale at a max of 70 Lbs. once she reaches maturity. We recently added the "no cats" icon to Frieda's post as it was discovered she is terrified of them (not in an aggressive way). She may learn to adapt if introductions to them are done very slowly. Frieda is a real sweetie!
If you are interested in Frieda please email us for an application at [email protected]. We are courtesy posting her for another rescue in WA. Frieda is currently living in foster care in WA but arrangements can be made to transport her here or have her picked up.
February 27th, 2008. Status: AVAILABLE!Frieda's foster mom writes.....My name is Frieda, I am a 11 month old German Shep/Husky mix. My first home didn't work out so well; they kept me tied up on a 4 foot chain day & night. . .I cried & howled because I so want to be loved by people! I am still trying to put on weight, I did not want to eat much because I was so upset about not being included with my pack. I have an intense look because I am always thinking & problem solving - but don't let that fool you, I know how to play & I am as sweet as could be. I learned the game "fetch" after 5 throws, I also know how to potty on command - my foster mom says I am very smart & attentive, whatever that means. I get along great with other dogs; I am still learning proper manners playing with younger dogs, I am very curious about them & cats. I don't have crazy puppy energy - I need a good walk & run everyday, but I don't chew on things in the house like a lot of puppies do - I am very grateful to be indoors with my foster mom & her pack!
Poor, sweet Frieda has had a rough start in life. She is only 9 1/2 months old and has been living off a chain for her whole short life. Frieda will need training and patience as she has had no attention up until now. It's amazing a dog like Frieda has not become aggressive with humans. Frieda loves people and gets along with other dogs. We are not sure how she is with cats.
Frieda is being spayed March 10th. She is a sweet dog who deserves to be part of the family. We are working with another rescue in WA to help Frieda find a caring and loving forever "INDOOR" home.
