My Story

Freeway has recently been diagnosed with Wobbler Disease. It is a condition of the cervical vertebrae that causes an unsteady (wobbly) gait and weakness. He is currently on Prednisone to help decrease the inflammation. Freeway is not able to get in to the SUV on his own, can't jump up on the bed, and has been playing less with his foster siblings. A myelogram needs to be done to further assess Freeway's condition. In order to alleviate pain and movement difficulties permanently, Freeway will need to have surgery. We are in need of monetary donations to help defray the costs of Freeway's medical expenses.

Freeway is turning out to be a GORGEOUS pit bull!

Note from Freeway: My foster mom says that I am very smart and extremely handsome! I have already learned to sit and I can sometimes even stay! I am crate trained and almost potty trained, but sometimes I have a tinkle accident in my room. My puppy sitter, Carol, gave me a black fleece blanket. It is my favorite! I drag it out of my kennel and spread it out on the floor to lay on. Then, I drag it back in to my kennel, so I can lay on it there. I do lots of different activities during the day. I love to play with my doggy foster brother and sister. You can see them in my pictures. We have a blast together in the back yard! I also like my kitty foster sister, but she is afraid of me, so I don't get to play with her. My walker's name is Ashley and she says that I am doing very well on the leash. I enjoy going on walks and exploring the outside world. There is so much to see and do! My foster mom says that I am going to be a wonderful addition to my forever home's family. She is always telling me what a good boy I am, so she must be right!

Old bio:Meet our newest rescue. As his name implies, Freeway was found on the side of the road by a good samaritan. She brought him to animal control, but was concerned that because he is a pit bull, he might not make it out... We were informed of his situation by an animal control officer and he was happily saved from deathrow.

Freeway is currently in a foster home and doing great! He is happy, friendly, goofy, and playful- what we hope and expect from all puppies. As of August 31st, we are guessing him to be around 7 weeks old. He has already been vaccinated and dewormed, is being crate trained, and resides with a foster brother and sister dog (and the resident cat who he is not afraid of!). His foster mom thinks he's just about the cutest thing alive! We can't believe he was abandoned, and at such a young defenseless age we are thankful someone discovered him in time.

We will update after he has been with us a few days so please check back for new pictures as well. Email with questions or to be Freeway's sponsor! Monetary donations, loving foster homes, and great volunteers are the only way we can continue to save lives.
