Frankie

Say hello to Frankie! This 3 year-old Pit Bull mix is the ray of sunshine you are missing in your life! If you are looking for an incredibly smart, loyal, and fun-loving pup then look no further. Frankie is very quick to warm up to new people and animals and is eager to reciprocate play whenever it is initiated. She loves to be around other dogs and has become quick besties with the other dog in her foster home. Frankie has been friendly around cats but her high energy and desire for play can be overwhelming for some. Frankie may do well in a home with the right cat but this should be tested with a meet and greet first. Frankie is house trained (no accidents!). She knows to tap a buzzer when she needs to go out and will even nudge her leash when her message isn’t getting across. She hasn’t gotten used to going potty in the backyard and insists on a walk for that. Luckily, this means that Frankie wouldn’t mind if you didn’t have a fenced yard but it would be an added bonus for exploration purposes! Frankie’s ideal forever family is one that will be able to cater to her high activity needs by giving her daily walks and opportunities for enrichment and play. When it is time for a nap, however, Frankie is a willing participant and enjoys being in her crate. She has not been known to howl when home alone, so she may be a candidate for a home with shared walls. Frankie is a friendly girl and loves to be around people but has a startle response that is a work in progress. Given her high energy and history with children in her previous home, it is necessary that Frankie goes to a home with kids 13 years old and up. Frankie is a healthy pup but has a history of skin allergies. This is well managed with a specific over the counter dog food and Benadryl daily. Frankie is ready to meet her forever family! With patience and consistent activity, she will be sure to develop into the perfect dog anyone could ask for. Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
